Uganda’s mountain gorillas

Debuting June 3, 2013, with four more scheduled departures through the end of the year, Odysseys Unlimited’s Uganda: Pearl of Africa 17-day small group itinerary includes stays in five dramatically different national parks, including Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest; a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary; multiple game drives and boat safaris, a chimpanzee trek, and a visit to a Pygmy village. A tour highlight is the challenging yet rewarding trek inside Bwindi National Park, where guests have the rare opportunity to encounter some of the world’s 790 known remaining mountain gorillas in their own habitat.

“Many of our guests are very well traveled and are on the look-out for new travel experiences, especially to places like Uganda where few have traveled before, and where nature and traditions have been preserved,” says Odysseys Unlimited’s President Bruce Epstein of the company’s decision to introduce the Uganda tour.

  1. A gorilla trekking safari in Uganda is an incredible tour but you need to book a permit in advance. Thank you Odyssey for this great post. I have also read about this great experience.
