What’s Happening in Osaka Japan

In “OSAKA ASIAN BEAT 2006”, pop culture events will be held, packed with Asian Power in accordance with various categories such as movies/images, music, cooking, designs, etc. from mid-September to November.

Osaka-Asian Movie Festival
November 1 (Wed)-30 (Thu)
8 as-yet-unreleased movies will be shown, mainly from Korea, Hong Kong, China and Japan. A special project “Stamp Rally” will be held during this period. A chance to get marvelous presents! Special showing in halls and theaters in Osaka city.

October 8 (Sun) 15:00-20:30
The most prominent of the budding Asian performers actively get together. Held at Umeda Arts Theater. Performers: Kyogo Kawaguchi (Japan), Dylan Kuo (China), Norazo (Korea), and others

ASIAN BEAT Food Festival
September 16 (Sat)-November 30 (Thu)
Competition between top chefs from top class hotels. Serving original Asian food at each hotel. Also plenty of delicious events! ・ A treat from 5 top chefs October 1 (Sun) – November 30 (Thu) Location: Hotel New Hankyu Osaka, Ramada Osaka, Hotel Granvia Osaka, Hotel Hankyu International, and Hotel Hanshin

A lunch menu with a “rice” theme will be served for two months.

Asian Graphic Design Exhibition
September 30 (Sat) – October 14 (Sat) 11:00-19:00 (Admission by 18:30)
* No closing during the exhibition period * Location: Osaka Municipal Museum of Modern Art (title pending) Shinsaibashi Gallery (Idemitsu Nagahori Bldg. 13F) * Admission free Poster exhibition by 15 designers from Osaka, Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Hamburg.
