Waving not Drowning: Signalling and Signals

This fun, drop-in session allows visitors to learn about signalling in the navy, and gives people the chance to participate in sending and decoding semaphore messages. Learn about naval communication and have a go at sending your own message by signalling across the ship or across the River Thames using semaphore. Out of the Box
Churchill War Rooms, 17 and 18 September 2011
Get involved in this engaging drop-in session where all visitors to the Churchill War Rooms can examine replica objects that have become unique symbols of Churchill, the most famous of British wartime leaders. Delve into this grown-up dressing up box, containing iconic Churchill replica items such as hats, coats and cigars. Take a step further in Churchill’s footsteps by handling the objects and even trying on the clothes, for example Churchill’s own Siren Suit which can be found in the Daily Routine area of the Museum. Afternoon Tea Tours

What could be more English than full afternoon tea served in the sumptuous surroundings of one of the Royal Albert Hall’s state rooms, overlooking the Albert Memorial and Kensington Gardens. For a limited time, the Hall is offering the chance to enhance your Front of House tour with this quintessentially English experience. The afternoon tea tours are strictly limited to 20 people and cost £25.00 each. Tea consists of finger sandwiches, pastries and scones with jam and cream. Introduction to the Holocaust
