The Kobe Luminarie walk begins at Kyukyoryuchi (Old Foreign Settlement) and ends at Higashi Yuenchi Park.
The beautifully lit Kobe Luminarie is a magnificent three-dimensional artwork with breathtaking designs of arches illuminated by an array of multi-colored lights. The Luminarie began in 1995 and is an annual event unique to Kobe City, symbolizing the ongoing restoration and reconstruction of Kobe following the devastation of the1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake. Adding a warmth and festivity to winter in Kobe, it attracts millions of people from all over Japan and the world.
