AIR-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE FROM CONTINENTAL JOURNEYS, PRICED AT $899 TO $1,249
Los Angeles, January 2006 — Continental Journeys' air-inclusive, eight-day/six-night package combines Warsaw, with its lovingly restored Old Town and dozens of cultural institutions, historic buildings, palaces and churches, with Krakow, whose rich history and preserved landmark buildings represents a synthesis of all things Polish. Priced at $899 to $1,249 per person, double, the trip offers a choice of tourist-class, first-class or deluxe hotels and daily departures through March 31, 2006; $275 additional for April and May departures. Multiple-day stopovers can be made in Vienna (Austrian Air) or Copenhagen (SAS) at no extra air charge through March 31. A 12-day/10-night package, adding beautiful Prague and a first-class overnight sleeping compartment on a rail transfer between Prague and Krakow, has fares of $1,119 to $1,899, increasing by $375 in April and May.
Guided sightseeing gives a good overview of the cities' attractions — Warsaw’s Old Town, Ghetto Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Krakow's former Jewish district of Kazimierz, the renaissance Royal Castle at Wawel, the gothic St. Mary’s Basilica and its Old Town, listed by UNESCO as one of the 12 greatest historic cities of the world. The Prague addition showcases the 1,000-year old Hradcany Castle, the statue-lined Charles Bridge and Old Town Square.
The Warsaw-Krakow independent tour provides round-trip flights from New York or Newark, a three-night stay in each city in the hotel category selected, breakfast daily, a half-day tour and leisure time in each city, reserved seats for rail travel between cities, transfers, hotel taxes and service charges. Train tickets are second class for tourist-class hotels and first class for first-class and deluxe accommodations. Additional nights and single supplements are available; air taxes are not included. Add-on airfares are available from many U.S. cities including D.C. at $50 and Chicago at $75. The Warsaw-Krakow-Prague package adds three nights in Prague and the overnight rail transfer between Prague and Krakow; D.C. and Chicago air add-on is $100.
