U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton today toured Cairo’s Tahrir Square, the epicenter of the peaceful revolution in Egypt. Surrounded by a heavy contingent of U.S. and Egyptian security guards, Clinton smiled, waved and shook hands with Egyptian citizens who thronged her during her unscheduled 15-minute stroll through the square.

Egypt launched its Global Ad campaign at the 2011 ITB Berlin (March 09-13). Newly appointed Egyptian Tourism Minister, H.E. Mounir Fakhry AbdelNour unveiled the campaign at the ITB on Thursday. Presented at the show were a series of slogans celebrating Egypt's recent peaceful revolution. The Minister expressed faith in a speedy rebound in visitor numbers and the year to finish with arrivals close to the level of last year. He said: "The peaceful, pro-democratic revolution has brought a fresh breeze to Egypt. Tourism officials will fortify their marketing measures accordingly, focusing on increased participation at international events and media-marketing activities. The new campaign will also include slogans such as: "The Online Revolution "“ Made in Egypt". It will run worldwide on TV, print, online and outdoor to complement the 2010 slogan, "Egypt..where it all begins"

Spanish Foreign Minister vows to support Egypt democracy: Spain is willing to help Egypt develop its tourism business and assist its transition to democracy, Spanish Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez said during a visit to Cairo on Monday. "Spain aims to offer what it can to Egypt, particularly in the economic realm, where we can encourage investments and establish joint projects in the field of tourism", Jimenez said after talks in the Egyptian capital with Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil el-Araby.
