New York – July 24, 2007: This August 24, 2007, Argentinean-born ballet legend Julio Bocca will perform his world-renowned “Bocca Tango” at Iguazu Grand Hotel in Iguazu Falls, Argentina. Though Bocca’s performances are known to be impressive and moving, this will hold particular significance as it is one of the last of his career.
Choreographed by Anna Maria Sketelman, the “Bocca Tango” is a unique fusion of tango and ballet – offering a distinct and creative take on traditional Argentinean Tango in a small-scale, intimate setting. The cast consists of Bocca, Cecilia Figaredo (as Bocca’s main counterpart), two singers and a small group of male dancers. The orchestra, directed by Julian Vat, plays well-known traditional tangos, such as “Pavadita”, “Negracha” and “Balada para un loco.”
Having already achieved remarkable success all over the world – touring through New York, Bilbao, Rome and Madrid, among other cities – “Bocca Tango” is sure to offer a memorable experience to those lucky enough to get tickets.

About Julio Bocca
Julio Bocca began studying ballet in Buenos Aires at the age of four – turning professional at 14. After winning the Gold Medal at the International Ballet Competition in Moscow in 1985, he went on to join the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) as a principal dancer, where he still stars in numerous works. In 1997 he founded Ballet Argentino, with which he will continue to tour until December 2007, when he plans to retire permanently.
