Only six days to go before applications for The Best Job in the World close.

Anthony Hayes, CEO of Tourism Queensland, said that more than 15,500 would-be Island Caretakers had so far applied for The Best Job in the World, but urged potential applicants to post their video application soon to make sure they didn’t miss the deadline.

“All applications need to be submitted by 11.59pm UTC on the 22nd of February. Unfortunately we will not be accepting any applications after this time, given the huge task we have ahead of us to shortlist down to the top 50,” Mr. Hayes said.

The 50 shortlisted applicants will be announced on March 2nd and voting for the one wildcard candidate will be held from March 2nd to March 24th. During that time Tourism Queensland and its international offices will select 10 final candidates, and they will be announced along with the wild card candidate on April 2nd.

The 11 shortlisted candidates will be flown to Hamilton Island to participate in an interview selection process which will be held on a number of the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef, on May 3rd – 6th. The successful candidate will be named during a sensational final event, which will be held on luxurious Hamilton Island on May 6th.
