Kicking things off, the hotel's Tree and Interior Lighting ceremony will be held in the Guinness World Records' largest hotel lobby on Friday, November 17, 2006. Starting at 7:00 p.m., the Hyatt Regency San Francisco will be illuminated with over 300,000 lights, which cascade down the hotel's dramatic 17-story atrium lobby, complemented by a centerpiece 45-foot illuminated tree. In addition to staged entertainment and the grand finale lighting, the hotel will be filled with carnival-style entertainment, costumed characters and carolers roaming the lobby. Complimentary holiday punch and cookies will also be served.

The Hyatt Regency's renowned Snow Village will once again be the centerpiece for the season, complementing the hotel's 40-foot high Eclipse geodesic sphere and reflecting pool. Respected collector, Len Connacher, will again showcase his private collection of the original Snow Village display, one of the largest of its kind in the United States. The amazing display features more than 3,000 handcrafted ceramic collectible pieces, including musical carousels, ice skating rinks, ski slopes, gondolas, chalets, trains and many more limited edition pieces.

Hyatt Regency San Francisco's Holiday Shopping Package features deluxe accommodations for one night, free valet parking, two for one breakfast in Eclipse Café, two passes for Embarcadero Center's ice skating rink (adjacent to the hotel at Justin Herman Plaza), Macy's Union Square discount booklet and discount vouchers for stores at Embarcadero Center (with preferred shopping status). Starting at $209, this package is valid from 11/19/06 to 12/30/06. For those with families, Hyatt Regency is also offering a "Breakfast with Santa" package, which is priced at $209 and includes a deluxe guest room, breakfast for up to two adults/two children and parking.

Additionally, the property is offering two New Year's Eve packages, which feature the Hyatt Regency San Francisco's signature "Crystal Ball." The Sky Lounge package includes deluxe accommodations, two tickets to the "Crystal Ball" New Year's Eve party, two drink tickets per person, with exclusive access to the VIP Lounge and the rooftop Sky Lounge and breakfast buffet for two on New Year's Day. The package is priced at $694 to $749, depending on room type. The more modest VIP package includes all of the above, with the exception of access to the Sky Lounge and is priced at $644 to $699, depending on room type. Additional nights for the evenings of December 30 or January 1 are $89 with the purchase of one of the two New Year's Eve packages.

Equinox, San Francisco's only revolving rooftop restaurant, is the best spot to enjoy the holiday city lights while dining in front an expansive panoramic view. The hotel's (newly renovated) restaurant will be featuring special three-course menus for Thanksgiving dinner ($85 per person, children under 12 are $25 and five and under are free), Christmas Eve and Christmas dinners ($85 per person, children under 12 are $25 and five and under are free) as well as a Breakfast with Santa children's buffet brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to Noon from the weekend of November 25 through the weekend of December 16 2006 in Eclipse Cafe. Santa Claus will visit tables or little ones can sit on Santa's lap and have their photo taken for a fee. Special children's menu includes mini chocolate chip pancakes with raspberry sauce and coconut flakes, gingerbread pancakes topped with powdered sugar, Krispy Kringle bacon, Rolly Polly bacon, Mrs. Claus' cinnamon raison French toast, Christmas cookies and milk, fresh fruit and cereal. Adult buffet is $23 per person, children under 12 eat for free when accompanied by an adult (there is a limit of one complimentary meal for children per paying adult).

Additionally, Hyatt Regency's 13 Views (located adjacent to the spectacular 45 foot tree), will introduce a "new fashioned" Contemporary Tea Service for the holidays. Patrons may choose from a selection of assorted flavored coffees, cappuccinos, lattes and Republic of Tea. Food items include California rolls, dim sum, assorted pastries and chocolate dipped dried fruits. Tea will be served daily from November 25 to December 23 from 2:00 "“ 5:00 p.m. in 13 Views lounge and the price is $24 per person with children 12 and under half price.

The grand finale to the holiday activities is the extravagant "Crystal Ball" New Year's Eve bash, which is one of Northern California's largest celebrations, featuring multiple stages of live entertainment, including KISS Radio's Michael Erickson's Record Dance Party and Light Show; a Motown dance party with Pride & Joy, a popular local R&B band; "Jerry's Jazz Club" with a sultry Latin trio; disco room dance party; and comedy from Last Comic Standing's Chris Voth as well as comedians Gary Cannon, Lee Levine and Steve Mazan. Additionally, to evoke that sense of future, the hotel will be filled with such engaging activities as fortune telling, taro card readings and psychics.

Admission for the "Crystal Ball" is $125 per person, including two drink coupons. VIP upgrades are available for an additional $50 and include entrance to the rooftop Sky Lounge and VIP Lounge. Advance purchases are highly recommended.
