Thembeka, born and raised in the States, found a love for traveling when she spent six months studying abroad at Oxford University. Her time in England not only included hours upon hours of delightful studying but also journeys around the motherland and to a number of other European countries. Soon after her return to America, she began planning a three-month journey into the heart of South Africa where she lived in a small, isolated town called Nieu Bethesda, teaching the native preschool children at the Sneeuwitjie Creche.
Thembeka currently resides in Philadelphia as a writer, photographer, and founder/president of a non-profit called Emerge.
