LAS VEGAS â€“ The Festa al Lago V two-week poker tournament at Bellagio culminates with the World Poker Tour (WPT) event Monday, Oct. 16 â€“ Friday, Oct. 20 in the Fontana Lounge and the main Bellagio poker room.
The entry fees for the Festa al Lago V events, all no limit hold â€˜em tournaments held Monday, Oct. 2 â€“ Sunday, Oct. 15, range from $1,500-$5,000 and the entry fee for the super-satellite tournaments, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13, Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15 are $1,000. The WPT tournament begins Monday, Oct. 16 at noon with an entry fee of $10,000. The champion receives the first place prize money as well as an entry into the April 2007 WPT World Championship at Bellagio. All professional and amateur players can register at Bellagioâ€™s poker room.
Minh Ly is scheduled to defend his title and take a shot at adding to the $1,000,000 he pocketed in his second career WPT final table appearance in 2005. Last yearâ€™s Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship attracted 420 players for a total prize pool of $4,074,000. Dan Harrington finished in second place and Las Vegas resident Gavin Smith took home the third place prize.
