As a Californian I don’t even know how many times I have been to Yosemite. Whether its in the backcountry or in the middle of the crowded valley there aren’t many places I haven’t been in the park. One thing I try to do every time I visit the valley, is stop by the bar at the beautiful Ahwahnee Hotel for a drink. More often than not, there is some kind of live music, the food is great and they have a respectable selection of top shelf whiskey. If it’s warm enough, enjoy your drink under the stars and moonlit granite monoliths that make Yosemite so famous. If you are in the mood for a more formal dining experience the restaurant is wonderful as well. If you don’t drink and aren’t hungry bring a book and spend a little time reading by the giant fireplace in the great lounge.
