This month, Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport introduced a new Airport Link system, a 17-mile airport train that connects Suvarnabhumi with the City Air Terminal in Bangkok’s Makkasan area. Travelers are now able to connect between the two airports using one of two transit options-the Express Service and the City Line. The Express Service provides a 15-minute nonstop transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport to City Air Terminal for a fare of 150 Thai Baht (or approx. US $4.80), while the City Line provides a 30-minute transfer with 8 stops between the two airports (including links to both the Bangkok subway and SkyTrain, for a set fare of between 15 and 45 Thai Baht (or approx. US $.50-$1.50). For more information, please visit Bangkok Airport Train.
New Airport Train to Bangkok

It’s a good idea – but in most cases, you’ll still end up paying around 80 baht for another taxi drive, because you have to get from the train station to your hotel. Considering the fact that a ride from the airport is usually around 300 baht, I still prefer to just take a taxi from the airport.
