If you want to be spoiled rotten, you want to stay at the Epic, a Kimpton property on the Miami waterfront. It is one heck of a swanky place. Everything is chic from the spa to the fitness room to the lobby. And the rooms will knock your socks off. Modern furniture, a computer with free Internet access, and a bathroom I didn't want to leave. The deep tub sits next to an opening in the wall that allowed me to enjoy the outside view while soaking in the tub.

I checked into the Epic the night tonight, the night before our Eastern Caribbean cruise on "“ go figure "“ Norwegian Cruise line's newest glorious ship "“ the Epic. It can be tricky getting the timing right when you're going on a cruise so flying in the night before can save you from the anxiety of delayed flights and late luggage. Farah greeted us at the front desk and I was bowled over by her kindness and friendliness. My daughter and I were in our travel sweats and she treated us like we were the most important guests in the world.

She gave my daughter a puzzle and a mini bar coupon and sent up a goldfish for her to enjoy during our stay with warm cookies and milk for her bedtime snack. Amazing. There is nothing like fantastic customer service to make you fall in love at first site with a property. Thank you, Farah!

The hotel is very environmentally friendly. The mini bar has a recyclable razor and toothbrush and even the slippers are bio-degradable! They work in tandem with a number of community programs as well. Nothing like swank and giving back.

It's late now, so I'm going to try to get some sleep. More tomorrow, of course. We hope to grab some breakfast and spend some time at the pool here before heading off for the ship!
