I am not speaking of the country’s geographical size (that of Missouri, if you are curious).  But rather in their detail to life, taking it easy, and at times appreciating the simpler side to the day.

Specific examples:
1) Yesterday I walked through the  main Plaza of Independencia on my way home.  A young boy kicked his soccer ball a bit too hard and it was about to go flying into the busy street.  Out of nowhere, a policeman came running to the scene and saved the boy’s ball with a smile.

2) Sunset on the Rambla – families and friends gather around for each sunset along [Montevideo’s] boardwalk.  They chat, drink mate, or contently sit there.  It’s nice to see so many people not too worried about things – or at least they are playing it off very well…
