SEATTLE—Sportfishing outfitter Deneki Outdoors has announced it now offers access to some of the finest bonefishing in the world with the acquisition of Andros South on South Andros Island in the Bahamas.

Andros South, acquired in late 2005, is a welcome addition to Deneki Outdoors’ successful sportfishing operation Alaska West, a remote tent lodge located on the prolific Kanektok River in Southwest Alaska.

Bonefishing in the Bahamas was a natural next step for the company. Many existing customers from Alaska West enjoy bonefishing, and had been seeking an operation that combined the challenges, thrills and beautiful warm-weather environment of beonefishing with the outstanding team, service level, equipment and comfortable, casual environment that they had come to expect from Alaska West.

Formerly known as the Bonefish Bay Club, Andros South offers not only vast amounts of sizeable bonefish in an area of the Bahamas where crowds are rarely an issue, but the finest equipment and guides in the industry.

Guides possess an intimate knowledge of the waters and endless diverse flats. Anglers can expect to cast to schools of bonefish averaging two to three pounds and will have shots at tailing and cruising bonefish weighing anywhere from five to ten pounds and up. Guests will wade hard sand and marl flats or pole in one of the company’s fully-equipped flats skiffs.

When not on the water, anglers can relax each evening in a private air conditioned room, take long walks on the beach, swim in the clear, warm waters, divulge in local cuisine or fine-tune their fishing tales over a cigar and cocktail on the outdoor patio. The lodge at Andros South is best described as “friendly and laid back,” says Bennett.

“If you’re looking for white linen tablecloths, you should look elsewhere,” he adds. “If you’re looking for a very comfortable place to spend a week fishing, relaxing and enjoying a quiet island in the Bahamas, you’ve come to the right place.”

The Andros South season runs from late October through mid June. Cost is $2950 per angler from Congotown, with single occupancy lodging, two anglers per boat, Saturday to Saturday. Three-day trips are offered on select dates at a rate of $1,650 per angler.

More aspects of the trip can be found in the Andros South trip planner. For package costs and contact information visit the web at www.androssouth.com.

Deneki Outdoors (‘Deneki’ is of Athabaskan origins, meaning “Moose”) was formed in early 2004 with the acquisition of Alaska West sport fishing. Alaska West had established itself as a successful angling operation on the Kanektok River more than 10 years ago. Alaska West also serves as base camp for fishing on the nearby Arolik River. The company gained its second angling operation in September of 2005 with the purchase of Andros South, formally known as the Bonefish Bay Club. 425-985-5938 www.deneki.com
