This is the XVI celebration of Mariachi Fest in the Magic Town of Mineral de Pozos. This beautiful town with ghostly atmosphere is located in San Luis de la Paz, at the northeast of Guanajuato State. The festival is an important meeting of mariachis coming from different States of the country so that makes an excellent musical, traditional and lively ambience. As our special guest we welcome Durango State to participate with a cultural exposure. For the first time the festival is extended to 3 days thanks to the State government efforts of Guanajuato, Durango and the Municipal government of San Luis de la Paz.

The festival begins the 25th of April at 10:00 hrs. opening the mariachi Aguilas que no se olvidan, from the indigenous community Misión de Chichimecas.
Also Mariachi América de Jesús Rodríguez de Hijar and Mariachi Gala de México, from Querétaro, will accompany us, between others. A special mass is going to be celebrated with mariachi music.

An honoring will be done to Pancho Villa (one of the Mexican Revolutionary generals born in Durango) where you will find a photographic exhibition, you may attend a conference to know more about his life and see the charros parade going from San Luis de la Paz to Mineral de Pozos.

Durango and Pancho Villa photographic exhibitions will be open during the 3 days of festival. Most of the activities are for free; concerts on 25th at 18:00 hrs. and 26th at 17:00 hrs. cost $50 pesos (before event) and $100 pesos (at ticket office). At the end of the concert all the mariachis will sing together.

Last day will be Durango's shift to make a cultural demonstration "Under Durango's sky" at 19:00 hrs. Later the Mariachi Fest closing will be done officially.

The event is organized in order to spread Mexican traditional music and to generate benefits to the population with the tourists' arrival.

Get your tickets with Mariachi Los Gavilanes; in San Luis de la Paz at the entrance of Municipal Presidency during the week; in Mineral de Pozos at the principal garden on weekends.

Dates: Thursday 25, Friday 26 and Saturday 27 April 2013.

Venues: Foro CAV (Centro de Atención al Visitante) and Foro Plaza del Minero.
