As of June 2009 (and through May 31, 2011) transfer passengers at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport making a stopover of 12 hours or less can enjoy a quick tour of the Thai capital and nearby provinces. Organized by the Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA), the Package Tour for Transfer Passengers allows guests to choose from various themes, such as “Shopping Paradise,” “Klong Tour” (includes boat ride to the Thonburi canals), “Massage and Spa,” “Golf Tour,” “Grand Palace & Emerald Buddha” (where guests visit the Royal Palace) and “Erawan Museum and Crocodile Farm.” The tours average four hours and the price includes an English-speaking guide, air-conditioned vehicle and all admissions and tour expenses for the areas visited.
