I haven’t been on Qantas for a few years, but did fly from LAX round-trip to New Zealand (business class there and first class returning) in 2005. Without question both great, comfortable flights and one of only two flight I remember coming home after a long-haul feeling good, the other was SAS out of Denmark. That reminds me, I think it is time for ITKT Awards.

LOS ANGELES, 12 August 2008: Qantas has been named Best Airline Australasia and one of the world’s top airlines in the 2008 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
Senior Executive Vice President of Qantas, Mr. Wally R. Mariani, said Qantas, which ranked number three in Skytrax list, had been listed in the world’s top five airlines for six consecutive years in the prestigious survey – one of only two airlines to achieve this.
“The awards are testament to our ongoing investment in premium product and to our people, who continue to deliver excellent customer service to our passengers,” Mr. Mariani added.
Mr. Mariani said Qantas had achieved additional awards in two other categories:
” Best First Lounge, which followed the awarding of an Australian Design Award earlier this year for its Sydney First Class lounge; and
” Best Economy Catering, which had recently been upgraded with enhancements including a ‘Goodnight Service’ offering organic chamomile tea and hot chocolate.
Mr. Mariani said the Skytrax awards were regarded as a benchmark for airline passenger satisfaction levels by airlines throughout the world.
“This year, Skytrax was judged by more than 15 million travelers whose views confirm the very
positive results of our own customer satisfaction research.”
