Not just for night owls: the hotel bar experience
Lucerne is celebrating the premiere of its LONG NIGHT IN HOTEL BARS. During the night from Friday, November 17 to Saturday, November 18, 2006, you can celebrate in style and make a late night of it in the bars at seven of Lucerne’s exclusive hotels.
With a special “Hotel Bar Pass”, you will have free admission to any one of the seven participating hotel bars of your choice and also be chauffeured around town from hotel bar to hotel bar by an exclusive limousine shuttle service. Every hotel bar has organized an interesting and diverse music program, ranging from jazz to party music or boogie-woogie and DJ.
Traditional: St. Nicholas procession in Küssnacht
When the streetlights go out at 8.15 pm on December 5, a loud clap of thunder marks the start of the St. Nicholas procession. Küssnacht is magically transformed when the 200 “Iffelen”, “Geisselchlepfer”, musicians and, of course, St. Nicholas cast a spell on the 20,000 spectators. Today, the St. Nicholas procession in Küssnacht ranks as one of Europe’s most impressive customs. www.klausjagen.ch
BTW: SGV has added an extra boat to their timetable so that you can leave your car at home: departs from Lucerne at 6.30 pm; arrival back in Lucerne at 10.35 pm. www.lakelucerne.ch
